Chinese New Year ( The Year of Rabbit)

The Year of Rabbit

Chinese new year (Year of Rabbit) will begin on 3rd of February 2011. It's a time when family get together to celebrate.
Chinese new year(Lunar new year or Spring Festival) is the most important of the traditional Chinese holiday, As the Chinese use the Lunar calendar for their festival, the day of the new year changes from year to year.

Preparation for the big day

In the day coming up to new year, every family buy presents, food, new clothes and decorations.People have their hair cut, cleans the house and decoration with Chinese new year symbols and flower.

On the New Year's Eve

On the new year's eve, the members of the family will get together for the Reunion Dinner.The food is cooked with combination of meat, Fish and vegetables.It's delightful,enjoyable and harmony for the whole family.

On the new year's day

In the early morring ,every one dressed smart , wearing new clothes and shoes.Greet each other with " kung Hei Fat Choy" which means :Wishing you prosperity,wealthy, healthy and happiness. Children have received lucky pocket money with a red envelope from their parents or elderly relation.
Usually, people will stay at home and spent the time with family in the first day of the new year.

Second day of the new year

On the second day, People usually going out to visit friends or relatives.Bring them presents and make a good wishes to them.It's the Chinese tradition social culture for long history.

The third day

Chinese new year celebration normally takes 7days or till 14( The Chinese Valentino's Day).In the third day,people don't visit friends or relatives because of the superstitious.Go to the temple or see the parade and see  the Dragon and lion dance is the most popular in these day.
